Wellness Center

The Toi Ticutta Wellness Center has a goal of helping to improve community health and fitness through exercise by providing a comfortable, drug and alcohol-free environment in a well-equipped, convenient, professionally staffed facility.  Our Wellness Center is eligible for all Native Americans residing in the Churchill County area and for staff of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. Some of the services, classes, and events that we provide include:

  • Personal Training
  • Group exercise classes
  • Spin Classes
  • Elders work out class
  • Women’s Evening Fitness Class
  • Women’s boxing classes
  • Round dancing classes
  • Summer camp for children
  • Fitness Events
  • Supervision for work outs
  • Basketball skills
  • Walk/Run Events
  • Biggest Loser Classes
  • Fitness Incentive Events 

The focus of the Diabetes Program is to provide health education and fitness programs to improve the health and well-being of the community we serve. The program assists patients in developing lifestyle skills for disease prevention and to limit complications of diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia and Obesity. Some of the services we provide to eligible patients include:

  • Diabetes Education Self-Management
  • JVN screening
  • Registered Dietitian meetings
  • Cooking classes
  • Swim Passes for diabetic patients at Churchill County Pool
  • Diabetic Patient Assistance Program* (diabetic shotes, eye glasses, dental appliances, special shoe order)
  • Diabetic supplies i.e.: glucometers, test strips, lancets and lancet devices
  • Pre-Diabetic Classes
  • Blood pressure machines (with a physician’s referrals)

Assistance Programs are subject to the availability of funds from the IHS Special Diabetes Program for Indian (SDPI) and eligible patients complete the following healthcare appointment at the FTHC annually:

  • Medical appointment with Primary Provider
  • JVN Exam
  • Eye Exam
  • Dental Exam and Cleaning
  • Lab test (as ordered by Primary Provider)
  • Nutritional Counseling Visit with the FTHC Dietitian
